Katrina Walters

Katrina has been an Alaska resident since 1991. She has extensive knowledge of mortgage lending in all areas but specializes in investment properties and self-employed borrowers having been partner in a small business for 10 years. Katrina is a member of the Anchorage chapter of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women.  She enjoys hunting, fishing and sporting events with her husband and three children.

Kristin English-Bowden

Senior Loan Originator

Kristin has been an Alaskan resident since 1957 raised in Anchorage.  Kristin

has been in the mortgage lending business for the past 23 years.  She realizes that purchasing a home or investment property is an exciting time for homebuyers.  Her experience and knowledge brings a smooth and pleasant transaction with Denali Alaskan Mortgage.  Kristin loves the majestic beauty of Alaskan scenery and enjoys camping, fishing, and downhill skiing.

Jeff Hase

Senior Loan Originator

Jeff graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations.  

Jeff Hase has been in lending in Alaska since 2003 and has worked at several local and national lenders as a loan originator. He brings his knowledge of mortgage lending to Denali Alaskan Mortgage and specializes in the  purchase and refinance business, utilizing conventional, FHA, VA, HUD 184 and Alaska Housing Finance Corporation products. When he’s not busy helping his fellow Alaskan’s achieve home ownership, Jeff is an avid outdoorsman who hunts, fishes, ski’s, is a diehard Green Bay Packers Fan and enjoys spending time with his three children.

Gail Stafford

Senior Loan Originator

Gail Stafford is a Senior Loan Originator at Denali Alaskan Mortgage, focused on assisting members in making home mortgage decisions. He is the president of Alaska Mortgage Bankers Association and represent Alaska mortgage bankers when interacting with the national Mortgage Bankers Association. Gail brings 25 years of experience to the Denali Alaskan Mortgage team. He began his lending career in 1985 and has been working in Alaska since 1998.

Jim Picard

Vice President, Mortgage Lending

Jim Picard oversees loan origination efforts for the credit union and has extensive experience in the financial industry, most recently as the District Manager at GMAC Mortgage LLC, where he and his team were recognized on a national level for sales and production.  Picard graduated from Old Dominion University with a bachelor’s degree, majoring in Business Administration and Management and is a Navy veteran. His career has focused on mortgage lending with companies such as Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, City Mortgage and Premier Mortgage.   Picard is a past president of the Alaska Mortgage Bankers Association and the first Alaskan to be awarded the Mortgage Bankers Association Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation.   Jim also holds the Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) and the Competent Toastmaster (CTM) designations.   He has spent 28 years specializing in helping Alaskans achieve the dream of home ownership.  In his off time Jim enjoys touring Alaska and the U.S. on a motorcycle.

Marie Allen

Mortgage Department Director

Marie has been an Alaskan resident   since 1966 and in the mortgage industry since 1995. She worked as a   Processor, Office Manager and Branch Manager, prior to becoming Mortgage   Department Director in 2007.  Marie  has a background in Conventional,  FHA and VA loans as a processor and a  manager. She is responsible for  the day to day operations of the  department. She takes personal pride  in the growth and development of  the Mortgage Department as well as  that of the Credit Union. Marie enjoys reading, bowling, camping and   spending time with her family.
